Wow, trying out this thing called cinema again after so long. Fantastic documentary about the ethics of high status art dealers and connoisseurs, and wonderfully global in English, Dutch and French. It asks bigger questions about 'what is a true Rembrandt?' 'does it matter?' and shows the buzz of being right, identifying lost works and ownership. Also the value of listening to your elders, even if you think you are right! And positioning your Rembrandt to be seen to best advantage without being accessible to thieves!

Fascinating to see the emotions and connections that Rembrandt's artistry inspires in others - from the family whose antecedent was painted by Rembrandt and are now art dealers/connoisseurs to Rothschild bedroom decor to the art collector who wanted to share art with others. My favourite was the painter trying to capture Rembrandt style and yet still not quite getting there; he didn't quite have the something which makes Rembrandt Rembrandt.
